I recently seen  similar non firing WWII 1928/1928 A1 Thompson SMG at a few gun shows. Original WWII parts, but receiver is welded open with a solid block as well.

Last year I thought I saw one like this (non firing) listed here on the forum closer to the $2000 range. 

Cool wall piece if one doesn’t have the proper license to own a full functioning one but can buy something like this. 

Is there any value to them? I’ve seen them at past shows going for $1500-$2000 range. If memory serves me right I saw one sold, within the low end of the price range.

RayRay even though they are non firing you are quoting them on the higher end price range. 
 

Are there certain things I should look for? 

Is one model - 1928 or 1928 A1more desirable or valuable then the other? 

 

I am not quoting them on the higher end. I have only seen several in the past few years in that range

And it bears mentioning that asking prices do not equal value.  Mistaking one for the other is how we get into false-market situations where everybody gets priced out and moves on.

 

Selling price is only ever what two people agree on - many times much less than advertised.

100% I’ve seen an A1 just sell for 2k. Sadly ima prices are not just asking but selling and are complete models. I haven’t seen “many” complete demilled models for sale in the US. In the UK they go for 1-1,5 pounds all day. 

I’d say take a thousand bucks off the IMS gun and then you would be closer to what the market is on that gun. IMA always has jacked up prices imo. 

Thanks Ronnie. I posted a question awhile back regarding the advertisements on tge bottom of the forum pages-if they are retail store or “old fashion” army navy surplus sites. Also f any members could provide feedback on those advertise sites. 
I’ve heard  about IMA prices since they’re a retail site higher market ups.
