The next in my series of knives.  I promise there's just a few more from this lot, and then I'll stop clogging up the Edged Weapons forum, at least for a while!  Have really enjoyed sharing these here.

 

Here is my understanding of what I have based off my initial research.  Please feel free to correct or add any information.

 

I believe the scabbard would be considered an appropriate match for this knife, and going off that scabbard:

 

• NORD 4723 - Places this knife as one that was produced/issued between November 1943 and July 1944.  (I also believe NORD 4723 was the first order of this type of scabbard.)
• B.M. Co, VP - Beckwith Manufacturing Company, a Division of Victory Plastics
• /3 - I don't know what the line and "3" represent between BM Co and VP.  (My USN Mark 1 NORD 8114 scabbard of the same type has "1/3" in that spot.)

 

 

As far as the knife itself, I believe Robeson Shuredge was the least common of the four WWII Mark 2 manufacturers (Camillus Cutlery, Ka-Bar Division of Union Cutlery, Pal Blade Company, and Robeson Shuredge).  Although out of the Robeson Shuredge variations (are there four?), I think this one would be one of the more common ones, i.e. 3rd variation, "USN MARK 2" blade marked w/ no red or black spacers on either end of grip.  Not sure about the years the different variations were made but the idea that this was the 3rd variation seems to make sense based off the mid/late-war dating of the scabbard.

 

Condition is a little rough, but I'm proud to add this to the collection as my first Mark 2.
