November 25, 2025Nov 25 #1 First carbine I’ve acquired in many years , found this one and it seemed like a very nice example , I see the receiver was made by intertype , never heard of them, any info and value wood be appreciated, seems to be a mix of parts other than the barrel and receiver
November 26, 2025Nov 26 #2 Intertype made receivers for Underwood from approximately June '43 to April '44, as did several other sub-contractors. Without more pictures hard to say on price. Probably a post war rebuild with various and a replacement stock. My guess, is in the $1000-$1200 range, more or less.
November 29, 2025Nov 29 #3 It’s a postwar rebuild. The staking of the rear sight and the bayonet lug attest to that. With that in mind, I think usmcdoc67 is probably pretty close. It does seem like they have come up a little lately though. Depending on the internals, sometimes it worth more as parts. The subcontracted receivers are pretty cool though. Limited numbers of them were produced and yours is in nice shape.
November 30, 2025Nov 30 #4 Filling out a Carbine Club data sheet is a good way to become more familiar with your carbine. Go to the thread with the Datasheets and download http://www.uscarbinecal30.com/forum/data-sheets-newsletter-back-issues-indexes_forum42.html Disassemble as far as you are comfortable. There are videos linked which will help to a lesser or greater degree depending on which part and your own experience. No reason to remove the trigger and hammer, or even disassemble the bolt until you are ready or they are gummed up. The main website has information on various parts.
