I may have posted this some time ago, and if I did,  I'm sorry.  I looked in my folders and on this forum but can't find any of my posts or pictures  I think I remember this being a SAW theater made piece, but I'm not sure. Could someone give me some advice of era and value? Thanks for any help, Ken 

It appears to be period / old and theres some decent effort put into it, but I doubt it would be a theater made piece meant for wear by a trooper. Its not like enlisted men couldn't get ahold of the standard issue cap devices. The hand crafted nature of the thing, the rather over-busy, artfully stylized hanger method for the letter, and the pin back aspect, strikes me as something crafted for a reunion, ceremony, a veteran, or even a spouse or family member.  Or, as always with this sort of thing, a theater or stage piece. Its cool whatever its back story.
