November 19, 2025Nov 19 #1 Hello! I purchased a sweater that looks like an A-1 mechanics sweater, but the tag on it is confusing me. The tag doesn’t look modern and seems more like a well-preserved old tag. The manufacturer, Malden Knitting Mills, is real and was operating in those years. However, unfortunately, none of the other information on the tag—aside from the manufacturer’s name—can be found online. I was also puzzled by the numbers 8/2/35, which look like some kind of date, but as far as I know, these sweaters only appeared in the 1940s. Perhaps someone here has more knowledge and can help me identify this sweater? I would be grateful for any help.

Oh thanks for your help! Glad to know that it turned out to be even older than I expected. Especially considering condition and the price I got it for.
