November 9, 2025Nov 9 #1 I was curious if anyone knew of any pre-war Navy air crew "yellow wings" veterans who are still alive? I know that Ervin Wendt is still alive at 109 and flew in TBD's around 1937-38. I was curious if anyone knew of any other pre-ww2 veterans who flew or flew in yellow wing aircraft or who were sailors on carriers like Lexington CV-2 and Ranger before the war?
November 16, 2025Nov 16 #2 Hello, I( dont know for a fact but my best guess would be no. My Dad was in the army, end of 1945 to 1947. He died this past march at 97 years old. If there are any left, they would be well into their 100's.

December 4, 2025Dec 4 #4 My father, then an Ensign, USN, commissioned in 1938, earned his wings 5 December 1940. He's been gone now for 19 years. I cannot think of one of his contemporaries who might still be with us today.
