S/N 818180-1 of 4300 shipped Sept. 4,1942 to Commanding General, Springfield Armory. WB=Waldemar (S.) Broberg-Colonel, Army Inspector of Ordnance, Jul.1,1941-June 16,1942.

"CL" on magazine base was supplied to Colt by M.S. Little (sub-contractor) for final manufacturing operations. C-Colt, L-Little

Barrel is correctly marked for this vintage pistol.

Pistol looks right as rain and very nice condition!  Great trade!

Hollow back grips?

Can you add a picture of the:

- Mainspring housing, from the rear

- The Ordnance escutcheon - close-up

- And the two “P” proof marks.  One on top of the slide and one next to the magazine release - close-up

Or, just look at the last two closely with a loupe.  It could be because it’s dry, but I would check to see if there is finish on the vertical surfaces of those stampings.

Ever since I got one in my hands back when I was 18,

I've always wanted one. To me there is nothing like the WW2 Armed Forces

.45 1911A1 Pistol. Its look, and feel in the hands is unique in my opinion.

Thats besides being a great weapon.

Thats a nice one Garandy!

Congrats!
