I bought a 1944 barrel and reciever matching M1 Garand. On a different sight a guy had a GAW marked stock. I heard from a few other forums it looked ligit. Thought I would check to see what you guys thought

Right as it can be. $300+ stock unless you stole it.

I paid $350 shipped. I know it was not a deal, but to make an all correct WW2 Garand I was happy to pay it.

Nice original stock.  GAW stamp appears to be double struck.

Thanks a guy on another forum said it was a fake. Makes me feel better to hear that it is original

That is a really nice set of wood, and big $$$ to the right person. In fact, I wonder what the rest of the rifle looked like it was taken from.... it doesn't get too much better.

I know $350 is not cheap, but it will make me happy. I am going to the Tulsa gun show on 11/08, will probably take the stock that is currently on my Garand there and see if someone needs it.
