Fake Bullion Balloon Wings?

Featured Replies

#1

Hey y’all,

I’m unfamiliar with any balloon observer wings, I’d like to know if this bullion is legit or not. The bullion details seem fine and is pretty consistent with what I usually seen/work with German bullion patches. Any info on date/year is really appreciated! 👍

Typical Pakistani fake.  And you’ll never see an original wing with such out of line US letters.

Ach, unfortunate. What are the other signs of it being Pakistani other than the “US” lettering being misaligned?

Thank you for an early response.

That type of black backing is indicative of a Paki fake. And the type of bullion is wrong.   Study photos of original wings on this forum and compare.  That will help.

Looks like a ball sitting on a pineapple.

On a uniform that I have, this is what an original should look like.  They are scarces as hell and out every 100 out there only 1 will be authentic.  Matter of fact it was reported that over the last 25 or so years only 5 or 6 sold in the open market that had been recorded.  Realistically, these bullion wings are rare then hens teeth.

Aloha,

John

Thank you for an authentic piece, and yeah, I figured they’d be super scarce and took a chance on a small selection of items.

You got a beautiful item there 👍
