October 16, 2025Oct 16 #1 I noticed one .45 holster has the bottom tip cut off. Would that be a common modification in the field, where rain might otherwise accumulate?
October 16, 2025Oct 16 #2 Entirely possible. As to “common”; never seen one like that before so unless they were all left in the field or avoided being in pictures I’d say not too common.

October 21, 2025Oct 21 #5 Could also possibly be something that was done for civilian use. Holsters were plentiful and inexpensive in surplus stores back in the 50's, 60's etc. I have come across more than one holster with the flap removed as well. Or then again maybe it was done by a GI, Marine or Sailor while in service.
