My recently deceased uncle was building this musket and I would like to complete it in his honor. It is inscribed as a US 1861 Springfield. It has a 40" barrel but as shone in the pics does not have a trigger guard swivel or a center band swivel. The barrel also has a center groove on the dovetail and the attaching screw is farther from the dovetail. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

None of these images are opening (at least for me).

The first two opened but not the others.  Try www.ssfirearms.com   They have been around forever and I have bought from them. If they don't have what you need, search 'antique military rifle parts', there are a lot of other dealers with parts. Good Luck!

In my opinion it does look like a 61 Model. It appears to have laid on the battle field a few years beforee being picked up. Thousands were. Some where never recovered. Nice wall hanger with some history for you.
