September 22, 2025Sep 22 #1 Can anyone point me to the history on this particular USAF dress mess uniform? The uniform belonged to my late Dad who served 1952-1972. He was a navigator and retired as a major. It is my understanding that at some point the USAF stopped using the short jackets. Thank you.

September 22, 2025Sep 22 #3 The “MESS DRESS” uniform is for formal events like balls, weddings, etc. I believe “white” was more for summer wear and light weight material vs. “blue” mess dress for colder weather….timeframe. Very nice
