August 14, 2025Aug 14 #2 These range in price based on condition, completeness, etc. Your example looks pretty decent for a fielded piece. Ballpark is around $400 to $500. Some collectors like the "been there - done that" look. I received my own, "1st issue of 500" several years back. A collector friend owned two unissued bayonets and sold one to me. Probably paid around $250. for it then, but would take awhile to confirm it...
August 14, 2025Aug 14 Author #3 Thanks PW. I paid $260 for it off of EBay. Not too bad of an investment. Going to hold onto it for a while.

August 17, 2025Aug 17 Author #6 Manchu, The 10,000 ft answer: the grips have crosshatching and the scabbard has no strap that goes across the hilt of the bayonet.
August 17, 2025Aug 17 #7 Manchu Warrior, I saw one of these in 2022. A friend showed it to me. He had no idea what kind of Marine bayonet it was, and at the time, neither did I. The first thing I noticed is that it was an M9 with an OKC 3S blade. I also noticed that the scabbard is different than either the M9 bayonet or the OKC 3S bayonet. Then I noticed the cross hatch pattern on the grip. With a little research, I found that is a "First Fielded Prototype". sent to the Marines for use and testing. They were extensively used and I believe that most saw use in Iraq and Afghanistan. That's a great find and a very good price. Marv
