M1 helmet paint post war or not?

Hey all, this is a helmet a friend got, is the paint ww2? Looks like that’s nice texture, but the paint looks a little off.

Also, just for reference this was purchased for $100, which is a bit steep in my opinion, but again, not my helmet.

I agree. The paint looks a little funky.

Looks to me like it’s original but with an overpaint.

This helmet was used way after WW2.

 

The clips that hold the chinstraps are from the late 50s if they are green or 60s if they are black so I would think that this was used before and potentially during the Vietnam era.

 

Reissued helmets are usually repainted sometimes more than once.

Yes I know the chinstraps and stuff are post war, the paint just looked semi close to a ww2 one, but not quite right, and I don’t have it in hand to judge, so I came here, thanks guys!
