April 14, 200917 yr #1 I picked up a couple new USMC helo squadron patches from the 1970s that I thought I would share. First is a HMM-164 squadron patch from their deployment to Australia in 1974.
April 14, 200917 yr Author #5 And another HMH-462, only this one from their 1977 deployment to Korea.
April 14, 200917 yr #7 Great looking patches! Thanks for sharing! Just goes to show that not all the neat stuff is WWII.
April 14, 200917 yr Author #8 Great looking patches! Thanks for sharing! Just goes to show that not all the neat stuff is WWII. Lee I agree. The WW2 stuff is great but you need deep pockets to collect those patches. The later ones are just as interesting and can be found for a lot less! Regards, Mark
April 15, 200917 yr #9 Very nice. Post WWII USMC Aviation Patches is a field that needs more documentation and there are so many neat but unkown examples out there.
April 19, 200917 yr #11 Great patches. HMH-462 is also known as the Screw Crew. You will notice that there is a small screw in both of those patches. I just recently picked up on of the the Atsugi det patches like yours. Great Lot and thanks for sharing. Semper Fly John Always looking for USMC Helicopter items (Squadron patches, Flight gear, Etc)
May 4, 200917 yr Author #12 A couple new arrived today. First is a nice 1970s HMM-164 Cubi Detachment.
May 5, 200917 yr #18 "We're only here for the Beer"... a common saying in Germany during the Cold War as well!
