April 4, 20251 yr #1 Received this as a gift. I believe it is a US Army officer's summer visor (based on the army buttons). I have not had any luck researching the Kuenzel Bros. No other markings besides the size on the inside. I assumed the black color means post WWII? Is this more 1950s or 60s even? Any info is appreciated.
April 4, 20251 yr #2 The top decorative braid indicates it's a USMC cap. Buttons and cap covers are changeable.
April 4, 20251 yr #3 Kuenzel Brothers is likely the distributor....The wicker bodice was discontinued sometime after WW2.....I would say WW2 into early post-WW2 era cap...Bodes
April 4, 20251 yr #4 The cover is for a USMC (Marine Corps) officer, and the buttons are for the Army, and this being a black Army button, dates back to WWI or 1920s. Hat is missing the sweatband. I think originally a Marine Officer's cap to which someone added the Army buttons. Steve
April 4, 20251 yr Author #5 Thanks everyone! My initial searches said USMC but the Army buttons instead of Navy threw me. Caps are no where near my expertise so this seemed like the place to go, and it was, as usual.
