Good afternoon all, I got this 423rd Bombardment Squadron patch in a large lot of patches and was curious if it stands a chance?

regards

Kenny

My first thoughts are its a copy made by Butler/Old Club patches

compare to these posted by Rick and the design stitching is more refined and detailed.

The Butler patches I suspect are made in Pakistan or India(?) never really pinned it down but have been on the market since the mid 1980s or thats when I first encountered them. The older ones are a bit more convincing and thicker wool base but still had the thick pile of return threads on the back. I still have an example for a reference of the early repos.

Here is a link to Ricks posts. I would use his pictures as the base line for real patches.

Always stay away from "WW2" squadron patches with very sloppy and excess threads on the reverse.  Big red flag.

I appreciate it, yeah the reverse was what threw me off but the details of the front gave me some slight bit of hope. Like I mentioned too it came in a large lot of patches but I’m not too upset if it’s no good! I appreciate the help gentlemen!
