I picked up this spam can at the Kalispell gun show yesterday.  Can anyone help me with the date of production by Frankford Arsenal? Thanks.

I can't help on the exact date, but Lot FA 4149 was the first lot using non corrosive primers in October 1951.  That being said, this will have been made before that date, so it will be corrosive primed.  I would guess it was made in 1950 or early 1951.

Thanks JQMD.  It's good to know that lot number for non-corrosive primers.

Your ammo was made in 1945. The Frankford Arsenal lot numbers for ball cartridges in 1945 were 3992 to 4024. Nice find in great condition.

Thanks Silverplate.  It's nice to have an actual WWII era Spam can.  It makes a great display.
