I found this very unique / strange pattern on the back of a 2 Engineer DUI. Any thoughts on the Manufacturer or Origin?

US-made just prior to/very early WW2.

Sorry, but I don't know.  Best bet is someone having insignia with this type backing still on the original sales card.

Another DUI that shares this distinct backing is the 176th FA. I have a prong-plate screw-back. I don't know if the design exists in pin-back.
