I've looked through some threads but couldn't find anything on this? I'm a novice when it comes to the US military items and like with all fields, everything gets faked!

This canteen cover just looks too new to me and I suspect it's a repro? Is my assumption right? Thanks in advance for any comments

Looks good to me. J. W. Johnson is one of the contractors for these covers.

Yes, I saw that and that gave me a little hope. I am hoping this is a good one, but condition is just throwing me off a little?

They can still be found in unissued condition. Here is mine. 1942 dated, not unissued but still nice.

Oh yes, ok, I didnt realise that there were still unissued ones flying around? Nice example you show there. Maker stamp under the flap! Well, then, I can be happy with mine! Thanks for your help.
