Here is for review (before buying) an M-51 jacket named and patched for Brig.Gen Robert C. Gildart

i may habe some doubts about the shoulder, and how the star was sew  but maybe it was when he got promoted to general ?

I am in no means an expert here but I find the placement of the stars to be strange.

How so?  Isn't a single  BG star typically centered on the epaulette?

 

Jacket looks fine to me.  Not something a typical put together artist would create (other than being for a general, it's kind of boring).  However, I see the asking price is $295. So, there would be some financial motivation for creating a general's jacket.  But, I don't think it's put together. 

 

My only question is, aren't brigades typically commanded by a colonel?  Would that have been different for this unit in the early 1960's?

 

I found two Gildarts in the USMA directory (father and son). Nothing  indicates either commanded or the 38th Artillery Brigade.
