November 10, 20241 yr #1 Found this awesome Korean War Ike this weekend with M1948 stripes and a pair of beautiful patches. No, I didn't get it. Just don't have the room for these anymore. -Ski
November 11, 20241 yr #2 Ski. Saw that same jacket at the antique mall in Gettysburg a few weeks ago. And for the exact same reason you stated, I didn’t buy it.

November 15, 20241 yr Author #7 Kurt, Yep, Gettysburg is where it was at. I have never been to an antiques mall before was mostly military. The staff there gave me a crappy look when I wanted to look through a bin of patches. Sorry, but a collector's gotta collect, you know? -Ski

What were you thinking? :) Let's all be honest here it takes some willpower to walk away from a patch bin and not buy at least something you've dug out from it, collectors gotta collect after all! It's a very nice Ike though, beautiful bullion work on both patches.

Lots of patches in the showcase on the wall to the right. And really nice patches, but the reason they are all there is that they are overpriced (and not selling). I go to Gettysburg (and that shop) a few time per year. I don’t even bother looking at the patches anymore. The owners told me they dread busy weekends because they don’t make money from sales, only booth rentals. Hence their displeasure at have to spend time watching over you while go through the box. And based on all the nice patches in the box, they probably do it multiple times a day. They prefer a slow day with little customer traffic.
