1SSF M1943 Field Jacket

Featured Replies

Just saw that somebody got duped on eBay for 650 dollars for a put together 1SSF M1943 field jacket.

While I’ve seen pictures of soldiers (actually a Lt. Colonel and Brig General) wearing the M1943, this one in question is a later variant with a screen printed how to wear label.

The unit was disbanded in December 1944, and the pocket tag says the jacket is dated to May 26, 1945.

Also, you can clearly see stitch marks from a patch that was removed.

The auction listing was ended and the item is showing as "No longer available".  Hopefully nobody got ripped off.

Yeah I hope so too. I caught it probably an hour before the listing went down, either because someone bought it, or it was deleted.

hopefully someone messaged them. There were 8 people watching it, from what I remember.

Right Allan, and I'll wager those Sgt Stripes too, weave is wrong, and look at the White edging, like it's backed with Poly Felt.

You're right Patches, those are reenactors' chevrons.
