June 27, 20242 yr #1 Hello How does this look? Unfortuneatly, someone ground off the spike nut!!!! Thank you
June 27, 20242 yr Author #2 It also appears that the tip may be sharpened and the scabbard is wrapped in leather…(done a very long time ago)!
June 28, 20242 yr #3 Greetings, Agreed, the blade has been retipped, but IMHO the blade is an original. The fitment of the blade to the handle has an odd gap (see red arrows below) and the font on the handles has what appears to be scalloping on its internals, which may point to being scooped out versus being cast in by the mold. If possible, I would request clearer pictures of these two areas indicated by the image below. Even if the handle is an original, much collector value has been lost due to the blade's shortening and the replacement of the skull crusher. Best, V/r Lance
June 28, 20242 yr Author #4 Thank you for the help. It was too bad someone had to mess with it. I still think it is amazing. Whoever did the leather wrap around the scabbard did a suprizing good job.
