I found this QMC Experimental piece recently. Thought it was a khaki shirt when I first saw it from the side.

Cuffs and pockets show obvious influence of M1943 and M1951 Field Jackets.  There is a partial yolk at the shoulders and front but it is otherwise unlined. Buttons are similar dished shape to BDU buttons but made in butterscotch urea.

There are loops for a belt which is missing. The label indicates the belt was “For appearance only, not for field use.”

I presume these were trialed around 1954?  The number after T-54- has been marked out and a ‘2’ stamped beside it.

There was one post a decade ago by a member who had a pair of the trousers but there are no photos unfortunately.

I see that the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History site has front and back views with no other information. https://americanhistory.si.edu/collections/nmah_449223

Also Buzz Rickson’s made a repro coat in OG107 a few years ago.

Does anyone have any additional information about the T-54 uniform trials or other components of set?

Some additional details.

I had one of those years ago, along with the cap. Unfortunately I sold them. I did hold on to the T54-1 green coat, bush, hot-wet. I found a pair of T53 trousers to go along with the jacket. I keep them with my EX54 field gear.
