My son has bought a couple knives from some auctions and was wondering what they are. We have done some google searches but really we are still left wondering. The black knife says DURKOPP one on side and on the other it has 3734 h on it.  The black sheath has the numbers 6297 on one side and on the other it says clc 43.

The knife with the brown sheath says case on it with a “thumb imprint”. The brown sheath is stamped M 7664. Thank you all for your help in advance. 

The first is a German WW2 Mauser bayonet.  
But the second!  WOW.  It’s a WW2 V42 First Special Service Force knife.  If original, it is quite valuable.

Your top bayonet is a WW2 era German for the K98 rifle.   Officially the S84/98 III was the standard bayonet for the Karabiner 98k rifle. Yours is a mismatched set with the bayonet made by Dürkopp and likely pre 1940( they stopped making bayonets around 1940).

Dürkopp: is a German manufacturer of cars, motorcycles, scooters, bicycles and ball bearings. The company was founded by Nikolaus Dürkopp in 1850 and is located in Bielefeld, in the north-eastern part of North Rhine-Westphalia, in the province of Westphalia-Lippe. Today it only produces sewing machines under the name Dürkopp

 

The mismatched scabbard is a clc43 made in 1943 by Richard Abr. Herder, Solingen.

 

Both bayonet and scabbard are very collectable but  have a few "miles" on them.

The Case V-42, if original which at a glance looks to be, is likely worth around 3k in it's condition 

WOW!  Youngandcurious your son hit the jackpot with that V42.  Curious to see the deal he got, because obviously the seller probably did not know what he had, and I assume your son didn't due to you starting this thread.  Congratulations!!!!!  SKIP

  We definitely did not know what he was buying. He just thought they were cool and looked old. My son is lost without a knife on his side! Lol. Since we have started letting him carry a knife he has been fascinated with them. I was mistaken about where he bought each knife.  The V42 he paid $50 at an auction and the other knife he bought at a yardsale for $50 as well. He gets $100 at Christmas from his grandparents and he saves his money for knives. 

Well, as others have said… Mauser bayonet is nothing special and worth the $50. The Case is worth thousands, don’t let him carry it or do anything to clean it up. Keep the blade clean and dry. Learn about it, care for it and enjoy what many collectors without deep pockets dream to own.

The V42 is original. Your son has a good eye and hes off to a great start.
