March 13, 20242 yr #1 Hi team A friend received this shirt and is looking for opinions. It has no labels and Im also at a loss to make sense of it apart from my initial red flag POV. So looking for more opinions. cheers Phill
March 13, 20242 yr #2 What would help are some photos of the inside out back face of the material where the patches are sewn as it looks like the chevrons and SSIs may have been added afterwards. The condition of the chevrons (mint) don't match the condition of the uniform. The CBI and paratrooper wing are kind of crooked and may also have been added so again photos of the back side of the material will help.
March 14, 20242 yr #4 In my opinion the shoulder patches, chevrons, CIB and paratrooper wings were added afterwards. The name tape and US Army tape is original to this uniform shirt. If you look at the material behind the tapes they have the wrinkling and material puckering effect that is caused from shrinkage after repeated laundering and ironing. You don't see this for these other patches except for the airborne tab which I can't explain. I also see different colored threads used to sew on different patches as you would think that the tailor sewing these patches on this uniform would be using the same colored thread.
