February 29, 20242 yr #1 PFC (Wireman) Harry A Jansen HQ Co. 2nd Raider Battalion. WIA Bougainville November 23, 1943. EX Todd Mellinger & Kevin Seldon. Although several newspaper articles note #he received a PUC, I can find no evidence in my research that the 2nd Raider battalion received a PUC, or NUCfor Bougainville. The 2nd Raiders did receive a PUC @ Guadalcanal, for the Long Patrol, but that was 10 months prior to Jansen being assigned to the unit. Jensen was medically discharged in June 29, 1944. Jansen was a native of St. Louis Missouri.
