February 7, 20242 yr #1 Found in an estate sale at a rundown house, this grouping came out as a complete surprise to me and was not something I was expecting. This Special Forces grouping belonged to a veteran named 1st Lt. David A. Benavides, who from 1969 to 1970, served with the 9th PSYOP Bn with the 8 SFG in the Panama Canal Zone as a translator and helping to train Panamanian soldiers in that time. After that brief stint, he would go onto to earn his Captain bars with the 490th Civil Affairs later on before retiring.
