any thoughts on this drape for the infamous George Medal?

 

They were to be made for USMC HBT -- optimally washed in a Guadalcanal river (Lunga or the Ilo)...

The "ribbon" of this one does not seem to have the same construction pattern. Not to say its not original, but the ones the USMC museum displays shows them sewn down into the area where the medal ring would attach for the "ribbon". Also, the stitching is tighter in the museum examples. The pin on yours does look old and oversized, which is consistent with the award (supposedly an oversized pin was part of the tongue and cheek nature of this medal.
