December 25, 20232 yr #1 Hello , i'm a new membet and ... Froggy (!) , so 1st : Thank you and merry Xmas ! ( and apologise for sometimes bad english , i do not use google translator ) I recently bought a beautifull pair of service shoes type2 that were sold has original "new from stock" mint . The rubber soles are rerally soft and made me wondering if they are reaaly good repro or Original mint condition Type2 . The laces are original i'm sure , about the stitching of the quarter to the vamp is not very common but i found this on early Type 1 and cavalery boots ( the ...Patton's ) . As for the eyelets that are not common but i found same on other origional S S T2 ; the leather also does not correpond to the new repro i knwo / own like Sm Whlosale US or ATF . The stamps as i can read is dated from 1942 and ... sm whl shos co , that is i know a repro manufacturer /seller , but i own one of the air they sale and it's deffetnely not the same quality / type of leather / shape of the counter heel ....Well , it could be an early version form the SM Whsl US Type 2 but i doubt , i asked the question to but nerver get answered . Can you help me ? Thanks by advance !

December 27, 20232 yr Author #4 Hi ! Thanks for the response , that was my 1st thought too . The rubber is too soft to be like 80 years old. And for sure , the stamp . I own a pair of SMW ,bought 2 years ago and , they are very different by the stiching , heel soles , leather and other details , must be an earlier version , in my opinion better quality than the last ones ( pics of the SMW "last version" adds ). Finbding some Type 2 i,n good condition is hard ! I found some on Eb . But non match pair : 11 A 11 B . The funny thing is that i can wear them both like a reel pair. Brought them to my cobbler to resole them with ,original and quite souple out soles . I wish you both a Happy new year in advance , all the best ! Yves R
