I'm unsure about the Red Cross markings. Are they real?

 The front Red Cross painting is disproportionate to the others. Was this common in that era?

They appear to have been overpainted and then uncovered. I believe a number of these have come from Brazil.  It looks good to me, but I could not tell you when the Red Cross markings were originally painted.
