August 24, 20232 yr #1 Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I came across the helmet, and I was wondering if it's original or not. I'm inclined to believe that it is because the makers mark is the same as all the other examples that claim to be original The only thing that concerns me a little is the very little amount of overall wear present on the leather. Appreciate the help!
August 24, 20232 yr Solution #2 Wow pristine. It doesn't match any of the reproductions currently available, especially the leather quality/stamping. I say it's the real deal. https://www.atthefront.com/product-p/ushtank.htm https://onlinemilitaria.net/products/1939-us-m1938-tanker-helmet-new/ https://www.ebay.com/itm/155439326085?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=155439326085&targetid=1531876736078&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9021772&poi=&campaignid=19851828444&mkgroupid=145880009014&rlsatarget=pla-1531876736078&abcId=9307249&merchantid=6296724&gclid=Cj0KCQjw_5unBhCMARIsACZyzS3PVYEhlOK_nswGOKeQUwmfZD1r58kuPtZyTcPLrjDOtJSwDkq1BFoaAvqQEALw_wcB
August 25, 20232 yr #7 As stated, an original. Back in the 80s there were a lot of new old stock helmets that were being sold and all smaller sized. Were found in India I recall Geroge Petersen had them (or found them) and also Hayes had then for sale in his catalog(s)
August 29, 20232 yr #8 Very nice! I have one in similar condition. It’s one of the NOS helmets from the India surplus. Frank
