August 11, 20232 yr #1 Looking for suggestions on the current value of this grouping. This is an all original untouched grouping as I obtained it a few years back. Cramer was WIA at Normandy on D-Day and was KIA on Sept 20, 1944 during Operation Market Garden in Holland (confirmed in his IDPF from a hand written letter from Harold's father to the War Department seeking his personal effects - see photo 11). Included are his two Purple Heart Medals, the 2nd engraved. The British Medal is correct to the grouping as LT Cramer had served in the RCAF prior to joining the US Army. Also included is an appx 50 page IDPF obtained from the National Archives. The grouping is hilighted in the book "Repatriation" " The return home of our war dead from the battlefields of WWII and the search for those who never came back" (see last 5 photos) in the "Personal Effects" section of the book. A cased named 101st A/B KIA D-Day Purple Heart Medal to an enlisted man sold on the Forum 3 or 4 months ago for $6500. Don't know if we would be in the same range for this grouping. This grouping was discussed back in 2018 in the post below, I was fortunate enough to have snagged it off of Ebay:
