July 17, 20233 yr #1 Hi! I bought this flag at the antique market in Belgium. I would like to know more about it. Best regards, Nicetas
July 17, 20233 yr #2 Welcome to the forum! What a great US Flag! What I think it may be is a locally produced flag from either the end of WWI or more likely WWII. I think the use of 20 stars (vs the 48 of the time) would be more representative or as we say "artistic license" so I think a "celebration" or ""victory" flag. Early on the use of 13 stars was somewhat common on nautical flags as more stars were harder to make out.
July 17, 20233 yr #4 I agree with Jerry, probably what I would call a "Liberation Flag". Quickly made for parades, I often wonder if the red came from a German flag.
