Found an old photo of the original owner of my home there is a large building in the background with a civil war monument I was wondering if anyone can identify the monument and where it is ?? Thanks for any help offered

Looks like a Civil War commemorative monument (i.e. not a battlefield piece) A Soldiers & Sailors monument

 

The four corners denote Navy, Artillery, Infantry & probably Cavalry on the unseen side.

 

For example, this is the Rhode Island Soldiers & Sailors monument

That’s it !! Thank you so much for your help I’m gonna check it out this weekend looks like the building in the background is York high school but is no longer there torn down in the 1920s I think this photo was taken around 1900 thanks again !!!

This thread has caused me flashbacks to the Civil War Monument in my old hometown of Utica,NY. I haven’t seen it in over 40 years.
