Wrinkled WWII Navy Jumper

Featured Replies

Hello! I just purchased this jumper, and I'm currently waiting for it to come in the mail. From the photos, it seems to be heavily wrinkled. Do any of you know of any methods of getting rid of wrinkles without damaging the uniform? Thanks

I read online that steam unwrinkles clothes, but I don't have a steamer. Would leaving it in the bathroom with the door closed, and running the shower on hot work?

An iron should do the job... I don't believe the shower method will work.

Echoing USMC-Collector or you could take it to a decent dry cleaners and have them do it for you .

Hand steamer would be easiest but you can also use an iron… most irons have a “steam” function - fill the iron with water, set the temp and locate the steam button.  Try it out on a towel first to get the hang of it.

You can also hang it out in the sun for a day or so… if there’s any moths, etc. the sunlight should chase them away..  hanging in the bathroom with shower going might help but from the photos, it looks like it’s really wrinkled.

Post some pics when you get it !

Hand steamer is your best bet
