Hello all,

   I just won an auction for a dress white Navy uniform jumper. I believe it is WW1.  I haven’t received it yet but here are the pics from the auction. Can someone verify if it is WW1 or earlier or later? Thank you so much.

I believe the lack of piping on the cuffs indicates a “landsman,” a rate authorized until 1921.

So this would be WW1 or earlier?

The dress white jumper was worn untucked after 1893. It has the correct hem for post 1893. The Landsman rate was dropped in 1921, so, it would seem so. 

Thanks guys, it seems to be in good condition, I’ll know for sure when I receive it this coming Monday. I only paid $42 for it. I’ve been wanting a WW1 (or earlier) Navy jumper for awhile, especially the Dress Whites. I really think the blue cuffs and neck flap look pretty sharp.

Just a point of accuracy, the “Neck Flap”, is a collar it’s just a shirt with a collar
