April 1, 20233 yr #12 Hummm...Guess it could be possible the company received a late government contract for the cartridge belt, but it was shortly cancelled with the end of WW2 in sight. I note the unusual "U S" ink stamping is devoid of the serifs normally seen (like on flap of the first aid kit pouch). I have a cartridge belt which is green (also w/o securing straps/snaps), bearing no markings whatsoever. Condition is as new. Such a cartridge belt could be a "blank canvass" for embellishment by just about anyone...

August 3, 20232 yr #17 I found a 43 date carbine case and a 43 date m35 bed roll both made by Forrest A Heath. Typed 'Forrest A Heath WW2' in the search bar.
February 23, 20251 yr #19 If somebody is keeping a master list of belt makers you can add these British companies to it. The names are taken directly from the contract records rather than examples, some contracts were small and I have not seen examples of their production. (please feel free to add pics if you have them!) MECo (Mills Equipment Co.) M.W. & Sons Bagcraft Ltd Finnigans R. Parkyn BHG (Barrow Hepburn & Gale) had their contract cancelled In total, they produced just over a third of a million belts between them.
