December 27, 20223 yr #1 This just sold for $635 and I am pretty sure it is a newer reproduction. Hopefully the buyer can get their money back. Thoughts? What a real one looks like
December 27, 20223 yr #2 The patch sold on eBay is a reproduction of the original WWII issue shown in my post.
December 27, 20223 yr #3 100% agree, not high quality ar all and even looks like the bad stuff that comes out of England for the WW2 squadrons
December 30, 20223 yr #5 To add insult to injury the seller has several more Marine squadrons for sale that are also reproductions. Surprised that it sold since quality of workmanship is pretty low.
December 30, 20223 yr #6 Four reproduction insignia from the same seller are now on eBay, advertised as "in country" made. They are reproductions/fakes, now WWII-era made. Tip: Generally speaking, the embroidered on wool theater-made WWII-era squadron patches were made in Australia or the United States, not in Asia. None of the WWII-era USMC squadron insignia had embroidery such as these reproductions. The back of each patch is a giveaway if you are not sure of the front.
