Found this today at a antique shop and had never seen one of these, i googled the lot number and it's actually a item on the DOD's list for procurement. Thought i'd share since i hadn't seen one before.

    That's interesting.  I have never seen one of the crates before either.

    Makes sense since they have the rifles for training purposes.  Looks like it also has a FSN listed on the crate so its probably Vietnam era or at least pre 1974.  I believe A102 means its just standard ball type ammo but someone might be able to correct me on that.  I looked up the codes one time for 7.62 NATO minigun ammo cans I bought but it was a while ago so Im kinda hazy on those number codes.
