July 11, 20224 yr #1 Came across this nice musette bag last week. It was under a pile of stuff at a yard sale and all I saw at first is what I thought was a UPS bag. Turns out after I dug it out, it read U.S. with the letter P in between. I find the bag heavy for it's size, must be the thickness of the canvas used. Dated 1942 and had a personal effects bag stuck inside. I thought it interesting that the owner had his information so prominently displayed on the outside flap Can anyone decipher the 3rd and 4th lines? BK-601-B P
August 1, 20223 yr #2 I have a musette with similar codes that I identified to a USAAF captain. Mine reads AL-900-CR Top row on yours is the ASN (army serial number) Rubberized musette bags tend to be heavier than the regular canvas ones but I'm not sure yours is one of those. Doesn't look like one.
