Thought I'd share my 2021 portrait pickups. Missing a couple, but overall nothing over the top. Best pickup this year was the tintype I posted last week.

Great shots Brig!  Would love to see closeups of Hallowell and the couple!  Also the Marine in the auto tintype, is there something across his sleeve or am I just seeing things?

Like the girl in uniform shot and the tin type!

You're seeing things, it's just one of the tintype hallmark imperfections

Here's the couple

Someone wrote 'Mom' on the cover, but it appears to be the Marine's daughter in his uniform. Best part is there's an unauthorized EGA affixed to his expert badge, which shows just how early the practice was being done

Some super nice photos there Brig. 2021 was kind of slow for me in the way of Marine photos. Here are a couple.

Love the colorized blooded Paramarine.

I managed to snag one more in the waning hours of 2021, will post it when I have a chance to scan it

I’ll jump in as well….more focused on medals this year, but still found some good ones

Wow. Those are some super early photos Dirk. Don't think I had seen those before.

Any names or history attached to any of them?

Thanks Eric! Picture number 2 the trumpeter, pixs 5 and 6 are also identified…the officer is an early one taken in Japan in  the 1870’s. The last one is a glass negative that Alec T turned into a positive until I can get it to a photo conservator…he appears to be wearing the Army’s Sharp Shooter award before it was officially adopted by a few years
