September 17, 20214 yr #1 Hey guys, can anyone tell me what service uniforms these are? My great-grandfather was in the Navy during WWII so I'm trying to assemble a uniform to pay tribute to that. Any help would be awesome! (He is the man on the left, but I would like to know both please.)

Black shoes the right is an officer in working khaki. Khaki shirt and trousers.

September 17, 20214 yr #5 These are a bit better. The B&W photo is WW2. The color photo is a reproduction, but more accurate than the first one I posted.

I doubt Midshipmen wore them much. And, they weren’t universally worn by Sailors on ships. Photos show us that, while they were worn, more reenactors wear them than actual Sailors did. As their shoes wore out, they replaced them with what they could get.
