February 8, 200917 yr Author #58 Drawings. Lars, Looking at the Patch King booklet that is pictured earlier in this thread, I noticed that he used the same illustrations as yours. It has the Phantom units in it instead of the WWI units that yours has. This version of the booklet is post-war as it refers to the atomic bombs dropped on Japan...... -Ski

February 9, 200917 yr #71 Teamski: Great find I have watched this thread with much interest. As I have one also. Mine has the exact same 21 pages as yours and then it has 16 more pages that the original collector added with his own captions. I also noticed mine has more made on felt patches in the first 21 pages and some used patches. Mine also has two patches missing from the first 21 pages. Mine was put together by a teenager during WWII. His mother ran a boarding house in Santa Monica CA. If a soldier, sailor, or airman stayed there he would try to beg a patch from him. He has a newspaper article he glued in the front of the album which I found very interesting. He told that he also entered this in the County Fair and won a first place ribbon for the hobby section in 1946. He quit adding to it around 1947 when he told me girls become his hobby. There are 468 different patches in my book. I bought this from him back in the early 1980's when I started to collect patches. I gave me a very instant WWII patch collection. It was also great to meet the collector that put it together. He was a real great guy. Ben

I only have a scanner and it will not do the complete page and my pages are very brittle I am afraid I will break one out if I try to much. This is the best I can do for you to see how he did his blank pages. Ben

Well, you have had his story in your hands for quite some time now. Thanks for sharing and hopefully, you can add some more photos (safely) to the thread. I'd love to see the variations in your book.
