Can anyone identify these 4 distinctive unit insignias? I believe some of the steer head DUIs may be variants of the same unit. The last DUI seems to be Hawaii related. Any help is appreciated!

The last one is the 63rd Field Artillery Battalion, 24th Infantry (Taro) Division

 

The top three are all variants of the 224th Inf Regt (40th ID, CA ARNG).

 

The bottom variant is Japanese made.

This one seems to have some sort of affiliation with the 184th Infantry of the California NG,, Haven't pinned down the whats or wheres, as this unit the 184th Inf was in the 49th Infantry Division in the 50s-60s and wasn't broken up like the infantry of the 40th Infantry Division in the 50s when those units were broken up into Armored Infantry Battalions when the 40th Infantry Division was reorganized as an Armored Division.

224th IR had no connection to 184th IR. Latter relieved form 49 in June 342 and assgd 7th ID Aug 43. Inactivated Korea Jan 1946. Relieved from 7th OD assgd 49th ID Aug 46. 224th came from 160th and 185th IRs back in 20s-30s   224th not organized until 1946.

Thank you my friend. Yes tred I.m aware of that, its the fleur de Lis and inverted chevron like the 184th's on the one that got me to notice the similarity. Maybe its one of those fantasy pieces?

Any idea of the era of these two pins? I know Tredhed2 mentioned the one on the right is Japanese occupation made. Would this pin be early on (late 40s/early 50s) in the occupation, or later than that? What about the one on the left? Is this one WWII or post war?

There are 5 variations of this DI. None were made by Aresta or Koepnick (or anyone else as a fantasy piece). The 224th was not activated/organized until 1946, so all were made post WW 2.

Yes that one without the scroll was made during the Korean War, the unit was a part of the 40th Infantry Division in the war, the DI for this unit was approved 22 August 1951, which at this time was already in Japan, if we can see the rear of it without the clutches it might reveal if it is a VULCAN Made one from Japan.

I'm stumped on that one, NS Meyer made, thought that one would of been Japanese made too.
