January 24, 200917 yr #2 Hi. Nice looking Secret Society sword from the Knights of Pythias. ID'd to O. Newman. Not military but cerimonial. Worth about $75 for average ones to maybe a couple of hundred for a nice one like yours. Hope this helps.
January 24, 200917 yr #4 These lodge swords are not military but do have a collector following. There was a time when a dealer could not give one of these civilian swords away but they have become collectable in their own right in the last few years.

There was a time when a dealer could not give one of these civilian swords away but they have become collectable in their own right in the last few years. Several years ago a friend who's a part time antique dealer picked up three of those lodge swords. They were older than most you see and nicely made but I still told him I thought they had minimal value. So I was surprised when he got an offer in the high three figures for all three.
