August 2, 20205 yr #1 Got this footlocker full of Lt Goodwin's AAF stuff last Sunday. Lots of maps, about 1/2 of training areas in the States, the other half North Africa and Italy. His medals, Type A4 flight suit, shirts, caps; one is a real "crusher". Even his ID cards. But no mention anywhere of his unit. I've been searching on line for days with no answer.

Waist gunner on a B-26 who did 40 missions. He received a purple heart which was pinned to him by Eddie Rickenbacker. He also flew a mission with Jimmy Doolittle (not in the same plane, but same formation). Survived a crash landing. Later he was hit by flak, but he was wearing his recently issued flak suit (apron) and wasn't injured.
March 26, 20242 yr #20 Thats an awesome grouping! The wings engraved on the uniform and provenance to it all. Wow! The wings alone are impressive! Fantastic! Is that a gauge out of an aircraft in the group image below the holster?
