I was given this item as a Christmas gift and was told it was a WW2 blackout lantern. I am not sure I have ever seen one before in any referances that I can recall. Does anyone have one like it or know anything about this?

If I remember right I've seen a WWI blackout lantern, that originally had a formica screen that got broke quite easily. This may be a modernized versioned of that.
