October 31, 20187 yr #1 I'll probably never know where (or why) this yard long was taken but can someone date the photo from the uniforms?
October 31, 20187 yr #2 I'd say WW1 or sometime just before. Based on the landscape maybe the southwest U.S. during the border expedition.
October 31, 20187 yr #3 That's my guess too - Mexican Border Expedition. I might also venture a guess that the civilians in the picture are either family who came to visit or tourists at whatever site this was at.
October 31, 20187 yr Author #4 Thanks for the replies. It's hard to tell in the photo but the middle part appears to be a small cove or inlet with a small beach and waves. Looks like lava in the foreground. I was thinking Hawaii maybe??
October 31, 20187 yr #5 Great picture, Definitely the surface of the moon. Looks like the Punitive Expedition (that's right isn't it?) time period.

I was thinking Hawaii maybe?? I'm in agreement with Tom63. Looks like a what he says, that is, small cove with beach and waves, with lava in the foreground. Hawaii or another pacific island area with volcanic activity.
